We live in a controversial and toxic world some days! Everyone has an opinion. Well, everyone has a rear end too, but I don’t always want to hear from it…. if you know what I mean. ???????????? No but seriously, all jokes aside. In the world we live in today, communication is a lost art. No one listens to understand what the other is going through. Instead, everyone is listening to reply, argue or rebuttal.

We live in a controversial and toxic world some days! We've got to start somewhere. It's time to be openminded, understanding, and show kindness. #AmandaMiddleton #faithblog #wordsoftruth #wisdom #God

I have friends who don’t think the same way or believe in the same things, but we have respect for each other. The respect comes from the fact that we listen to each other to understand the season of life the other is in. We listen so we can help and get to know the other even more.

God says to love one another. He didn’t say to only love everyone that thinks the same way as you.

What we should do…

It’s time to start relating. To start listening. And start loving. It’s time to forget about our differences and start uniting.

As I watched the funeral of George H.W. Bush, I watched former presidents of different parties sit in the same row without an argument. Okay, I’m not naive, no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors, but from what meets the eye, they were able to sit in the same room without torturing each other. I can’t say the same for some of us Americans. (I talk more about it in my IG stories.)

It’s time to set aside our differences and really listen to others’ so we can truly know the souls of our fellow man. Isn’t that what it’s all about, loving like Jesus? An unconditional love…

Put down the torches and start listening, loving, and uniting! If not for them, at least for yourself. You were meant to do so much more than hold grudges, argue, and harbor anger. You were meant to walk in joy. Let your opinions be known, but be willing to listen at the same time.

The reward is simple: peace in your mind, peace in your home, and peace in your spirit. And that my friends is the sweet spot. The sweet spot that allows you to walk with your head held high and in joy every day all day!  Who’s with me?
