Thank you Mandi for inviting me to do a guest post for Testimonial Tuesdays! I’m Shayna and I blog at Enchanted Desert Minnie! Growing up my family was never one that went to church regularly. My dad was in the military and we moved around a lot. As well as going back to my parents’ childhoods’ brought up some differences of religious opinion. When I met my husband his family was similar. So when an obstacle arouse he would automatically think the worst case scenario. I’m not quite sure why I had more faith than he did when we essentially had the same experience as children. But I always was one to believe that God was there and if we put our faith and trust in Him everything would turn out the way it was supposed to. A favorite quote from my grandfather was “Let Go And Let God”. Meaning give your worry and your stress to Him. We may not always know why things happen, or don’t happen but believe in His plan. When we found out that I was pregnant with our twins the thoughts of all of the bad things that could happen of course rush to your head first thing. But I always had a feeling in my heart that they would be ok. Sure we had our ups and downs with the pregnancy but our boys were delivered very healthy and at 38 weeks! All of the boys have been healthy and I thank Him every day for that. Working in the medical field I know that our lives could change in the blink of an eye with them and I am always humbled and appreciative for what He has given us. (Even when I’m getting pre-teen attitude!)My husband and I of course have had our ups and downs in our marriage like all husbands and wives do. When life, bills, kids, work, schedules, and everything else in between gets in the way it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. There have been times when we are worrying about how this bill or that school fee is going to be paid. But as always we take a deep breath and began to list all of the things we are thankful for and how fortunate we are to have simple things many take for granted like electricity, running water and a warm home. We may not have all of the money in the world but we have each other and that is priceless. And when we realize this everything seems to fall into place. I truly believe that God hears us, not only our prayers for needing help but also when we give Him thanks.
