You cannot go wrong with this Peanut Butter Overnight Oats!

Where are all of my oatmeal loves?

I love oatmeal and so do my kids! It is quick, easy and nutritious when made at home.

As you know, on this site I have several oatmeal recipes, because I know they offer convenience and warmth all at the same time. But, this one is a little different from most oatmeal recipes. I have seen this recipe floating around Pinterest on many occasions but, it wasn’t until a few weeks ago I decided to try it and it has been my go-to ever since. I love it!

To make this recipe even more convenient you can make it the night before and have it ready in the fridge when you are ready to eat the next morning. Here is the catch though….. it is served cold. But, before you turn me off hear me out. It is very good! If cold does not appeal to you, no worries I will give you a variation to make you happy too.

So let’s get started on this yummy and nutritious recipe!

Peanut Butter Overnight Oats

Serves 1

Peanut Butter Overnight OatsIngredients:

Preparation:

Add oats to a container of your choice and pour in milk. Mix in vanilla extract, chia seeds, and cinnamon. Add nut butter followed by sliced banana. Drizzle with honey. Place in fridge and enjoy in the morning or a few hours later!

Tips & Variations

  • If you do not want this served cold, before placing in fridge leave the nut butter and bananas off. Place in fridge overnight. Pull it out in the morning, warm up in the microwave for about a minute or until the mixture is warmed. Add the nut butter and bananas after you have warmed up your oatmeal.
  • if you microwave your oatmeal in the morning be mindful of not drying out your oatmeal. You may need to add a small amount extra of milk. Keep an eye out.
  • This recipe can be considered allergy-free if you omit the proper ingredients. (I omit quite a few ingredients due to nut allergies in our house)
  • Mason jars work great! If you do not have a mason jar on hand make sure you choose a jar that is wide enough at the mouth to add and stir all of your ingredients. And if you are using plastic make sure it is BPA free and can be used in the microwave, if you are going that route.

Fun For The Kids

This oatmeal is great for you and the kids. Make it fun for the kids. Get a pretty container and have them fill and prepare their container.

You cannot go wrong with this recipe! Think of the possibilities! You could substitute the banana for any fruit to your liking!

If you try this recipe let me know how it turned out and how you prepared it. I could always use a different variation too!
