There are 2 Secrets to Starting Your Journey Into Weight-loss and they really do work!

Let me give you a little back history here. If you are a guy you may want to stop here. You have been warned!

2 Secrets to Starting Your Journey Into Weight-loss

At a very young age I had hormonal imbalances that went right along with cysts on my ovaries and endemteriosis. I have had several surgeries and procedures over the years to try and correct or help the situation. After having two pregnancies, one a twin pregnancy, I could not take the pain and procedures or the hormonal emotional roller coaster anymore. My doctor and I agreed that with my family history and my own “yonder region” history that a hysterectomy was the right decision. At the time I felt I had no other choice, but to have a hysterectomy. I am not saying the hysterectomy was a mistake, by all means, but it did open up a whole new “can of worms” for me.

Although, I am not going to lie, there are some perks to not having a uterus anymore…….

IMG_5460Not having the monthly visits are huge perks, but I have come to realize that with my age and lack of my female anatomy have come other issues. Not all of them can be contributed to my hysterectomy, but some have gotten worse over the years and I have been on a mission for two years now to correct and help my body as much as I can.

My hopes in writing about this issue is that you can also help yourself and learn from my mishaps, trials and tribulations through this journey. And that you will celebrate with me through the awesome times and use the knowledge I have learned to help yourself in the same journey.

Keep in mind all that I do every single day is to help my hormones, adrenal fatigue, stress I have put on my body throughout the years of strenuous exercise regimens, daily stress and other issues that have risen over the past years.

Before my hysterectomy, I worked out every day for at least 1 hour a day, intensely.  I alternated between cardio and weights. Some of that cardio was boring and daunting, but I thought it was the right thing for me. I was in great shape, but I was exhausted all of the time! After my hysterectomy I started to research……..okay, I became obsessed with research, because I wasn’t willing to stay on medication for the rest of my life.

Anywho, I figured out how to heal my body and now I am starting to feel INCREDIBLE!  Praise the Lawd! It has been a long journey, but a journey well worth it. Getting to this place required a lot of changes on my part……

Changes you say?

Why, yes!

2 secrets to start your journe into weightlossWhere do I start?

If you are ready to start a new life and a healthy lifestyle you need to start with two things. That is it! Everyone needs a starting point.  I’m a firm believer in these two things to get you well on your way……

  1. Working out more is not always best
  2. Restricting calories will make you fat

Now that we’ve got that out in the open….

Fitness

The hardest change I had to make was to my workout schedule, because I LOVE to workout.  Now I have figured out the perfect workout plan for me, and I rock it, because I love it!!

I now train smarter, not longer! Did you read that right?

Train smarter, not longer!

That means no more long hours in the gym doing ridiculous amounts of cardio. (Stay tuned, I will be sharing more workout tips and circuit training exercises.)

Nutrition

The next change I had to make was my nutrition. I have learned to fuel my body better. Even though I was in great shape in the past, I was very unhealthy on the inside. I was tired all of the time, my complexion was not at it’s best and I was having a hard time bouncing back from pregnancy. I was a very unhealthy thin-er person. I felt awful! Now fast forward a few years and I feel great.

I no longer eat for pleasure, but for fuel. That doesn’t mean I do not indulge from time to time, I do! But, I keep it at a minimum. I have retrained my brain to thinking that food is fuel!

Now that you know a little more about me you can understand a bit more about my journey and why I do what I do. But now, I want to help you. I want to help you get back to the best YOU you can be. I want you to be able to enjoy your kids and family by being healthy and energetic. It was a long journey for me and I still hit brick walls from time to time, but I know what triggers them now and I try my hardest to avoid those triggers.

It can be done! I am a walking testimony!

What do I do now?

I invite you to start here. I purchased this book and it helped me identify a lot of things I speak about in this post. It has helped me and guided me through this journey and it can help you too if you are ready and willing.

What is your hardest struggle? Workouts or Nutrition?
